A Million Windows

Photo of the author c/- the Sydney Morning Herald

(by Gerald Murnane) Murnane’s writing is the literary equivalent of a performance by the dance troupe Jailolo.  As the dancers creep across a stage via barely discernable, repetitive, miniscule movements, so Murnane inches and tics his way from nowhere to somewhere word by word. His is a philisophy of obscurantism, distance and apprehension. “I recalled just now an earlier undertaking of mine to explain in the previous paragraph why this is not a self-referential work of fiction.  The discerning reader should have found the promised explanation in the paragraph as it stands.  For the sake of the undiscerning reader I shall repeat the simple fact…

Now, you may ask, why doesn’t this woman have any glue.  Is it just because she can’t find anything in…

Harmony Crochet Bag Three

November 10, 2015 | Posted by Lesley Jakobsen | Annabel Lee |

Updating the harmony crochet bag…..I have added the lace and crocheted the top of the bag with Stylecraft Special DK in Parma Violet and (Non-stretchy) cotton. Now to hunt out some cord for handles.  It’s going to be a scary scene like something in the horror film  Wuthering Heights – the Craftroom  (cue hair-raising music) as I rustle through boxes and bags and throw out handfuls of braid and cord. In order to procrastinate a little more,  I shall work on a post about another project I am working on – The Rime of the Ancient Embroiderer.
