Buried Alive in the Blues

Glenelg v Sturt at Glenelg Oval (June 19, 2016)

Good news first – there were heaps of examples of grit and endeavour against the top team.  We had 3 more scoring shots and a lot of contested possession. A statistician would be pleased, but in the final analysis, the only stat is we got beat.  Turnovers and missed shots for goal (7.17, if you please!) killed us, and Sturt aren’t the quivering mass of jelly they used to be.

So, we show evidence of want and will, which is half the battle…let’s now work on verve and skill, which when added, is the whole battle.

Onward and hopefully upward – I don’t think the Tigers have any show of reaching the finals now, though I will be deliriously pleased to eat my old pork-pie hat if they do.  We next have West, the reigning premier, who has shaken off its hangover just in time for us: so shoulders will be needed at the wheel.

Sturt 13.8 (86) Glenelg 7.17 (59)

NOTE: The Tigers’ Gala Auction is on this Saturday Night (June 25th) at the Intercontinental, 7 pm for 7.30 pm.  I gather there will be some quality items up for bid, so grab a seat or get someone with a ticket primed to snap up something for you!
