Really enjoyed seeing and hearing "Amoureuse".. I have been a true fan of Kiki Dee's since I was 12. I am now 53, I consider myself her biggest fan in the US! I remember reading an article in a magazine many years ago that she was suffering cancer. I cried and prayed for her as if she were my own " real" friend. I was glad to know she is well and continues to song and preform music. My favorite stuff was always the album cuts that she wrote herself and that never got radio air play. She is a lovely women, talented singer, and gifted poet! I just wish more US fans appreciated her body of work. Most Americans only know her for " I've Got The Music In Me", "Chicago", and of course her madly popular hit with Sir Elton John, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". I'm 10 and 15 years older than my two sisters. After I grew up and left my parents home. There were so many times that my father would comment about the "awful" music my teenage sisters were listening to! They were into lots of hard rock and heavy metal. My dad would laugh and say.. " I wish I could go back to the day where the sounds of Kiki Dee was coming out of that bedroom over the stereo!". " The garbage your sisters play.. Makes me appreciate how good my ear had with you beloved Kiki Dee albums"! Lol. Dad is 75 now and occasionally he asks me.. Is Kiki still your favorite.. I say, "Cheshire cat ever loose his grin.. Of course SHE is"! One of my favorite albums was " Loving & Free". She wrote so much of that album. I have four grown children and many grandchildren. They have all heard my old Kiki albums.
Kiki should be better known for her work in those days beyond the hits. She has an incredible voice that's still great today. Pick up a copy of Almost Naked. Still got it.
