(Europe, northern autumn, 2026)

We regret to say that our foray into northern Europe has left our bleak view of the modern plastic arts un-changed. The worst sculptor in the world, a Dane, has plenty of competition, particularly from Norway. Some of this ‘work’ is arrayed below, comment largely superfluous:

Bayreuth

Edvard Munch, “Workers in Snow” (1914) (bronze), Oslo. [Stick to painting, Ed.]

An abomination in Oslo

Oslo

Westerplatte Monument, Gdansk

Oslo again, I’m afraid

Gustav Vigeland, “Two Boys Running” (1927-30) (plaster). Vigeland works en masse: his singular works cruelly reveal his limitations

“Lady in Blue”, Trafalgar Square, London

I'm afraid I'm in agreement with you. They're all pretty bad!
