I wanted to use my lovely Noro yarn. I wanted to make this vest. It is in Cleckheaton No 934, “outrageous crochet” by Penny O’Neill. So… I put the two together. Here is the front. This is the back. Here”s a hint – I found it useful to cut out cardboard circles in the three sizes and measure my medallions against them as I went. Much easier than getting the tapemeasure out all the time. When I had finished the main part (see that blue line?) I jut kept going I want it to be long enough to…

Problem is, I decided to crochet only one buttonhole because I was too lazy at that time to bother with measuring for placement. I also thought that I would not do up the buttons. But now that I see it finished, I think it needs to be done up. So one day I must be very brave and get out the seam ripper, carefully cut buttonholes and then buttonhole stich around the cut quickly. Eeep! Can anyone think of a better way…

It is far too delicate for me to throw my usual houseload of things into and drop onto nasty floors. I will glue in some gems in to replace the ones which are missing from the leafy green vintage brooch, when I have some glue, but I am still not sure about the brooch there. What do you think? Now, you may ask, why doesn’t this woman have any glue. Is it just because she can’t find anything in…
Continue Reading →Dear Annabels, you will remember part one of my progress with the Harmony crochet bag here. Guess what! Kathryn herself, the designer from Crafternoon Treats has commented on my post! It’s marvellous to have my version of her beautiful creation noted by the lady herself. Well, having been heartened by this, I got back to work on the bag, which, I must confess, had been put on the backburner due to my fear of the horrific job of finding and selecting lace for the next stage. I am afraid of trying to find lace in my craft room (known as “Wuthering Heights” because (cue…

The granny square one was made with Stylecraft Special DK and other bits and pieces. It was inspired by these divine chairs from this pretty blog. I just love the pink and green with the white and the one pink square in the green one and vice versa. (I ran out of puff after one cushion front). For more lovely chairs decorated with crochet and every other technique you can think of, visit my Pinterest page which…
